NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has today announced five new assistant commissioners and three new commands as part of the re-engineering of the NSW Police Force, NSW Police say.

Commissioner Fuller said the new Assistant Commissioners bring a dynamic mix of youth, investigative, operational and corporate experience across regional and metropolitan NSW and specialist commands.
"These five diverse individuals have decades of experience across all areas of policing and bring new focus, energy and ideas to the executive level of the NSW Police Force," Commissioner Fuller said.
"The new assistant commissioners will help shape the future of the organisation in this evolving environment, ensuring our focus remains on community service, disruption and prevention of crime and responding to incidents.
"The appointments are another step in the re-engineering process of NSW Police, enhancing the capability of the current structure into more dynamic commands.
Police Minister Troy Grant said today represents another significant milestone for the NSW Police Force.
"Commissioner Fuller has put together a tremendous leadership team, which offers a snapshot of the depth and breadth of talent within the NSW Police Force," Mr Grant said.
"I would like to congratulate each of the new assistant commissioners and look forward to seeing the new executive working together as we embark on the next stage of re-engineering the force."
Earlier this month the Minister and Commissioner signed off on transfers for five current Assistant Commissioners:
- Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy to Commander, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command;
- Assistant Commissioner Peter Barrie to Region Commander, Southern Region;
- Assistant Commissioner Max Mitchell to Region Commander, Northern Region;
- Assistant Commissioner Mark Jenkins to Commander, State Intelligence Command; and
- Assistant Commissioner Malcolm Lanyon to Commander, State Crime Command.
Under the new structure, a relieving Assistant Commissioner will be appointed to the Major Events Incident Group and the State Services Group Commands while the re-engineering process re-allocates their functions into a new command.
The five new Assistant Commissioners will take up their positions from 1 August 2017.
