Five Victorians named in Australian Squad for Men's Deaf Team's Tour of India

Cricket Australia has announced the squad for the Australian Men's Deaf Cricket Team's upcoming tour of India.

Following Victoria's third consecutive title at the 2025 National Cricket Inclusion Championships, five Victorians have been named in the 16-man squad.

Jacob Floyd has earnt his first call up for Australia, joining Callum Asbury, Himath Perera, Justin Morgan and Tom Robertson.

Reflecting on an eventful start to 2025, Victoria's Deaf and Hard of Hearing captain Callum Asbury said he is looking forward to representing every young deaf cricketer who aspires to pull on the Green and Gold.

"It has already been a big year, I can tell you that," said Asbury.

"On the back of the National Cricket Inclusion Championships, myself and the other Victorian boys who have been selected in the Australian squad know that we have more work to do."

"Playing a team like India in their home country is exciting. Having made my debut there in 2018, I know I can show these boys how amazing the country is and how tricky their wickets are."

"That's why I've been preparing them over the last month to make sure they are well-equipped for what happens in this series!"

Asbury is delighted with the inclusion of teammate Floyd, having watched him closely since he debuted for Victoria at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships in 2024.

"Jake has been a vital member of the Victorian team – his performances with both the bat and ball in both the Semi Final and Grand Final against Queensland, shows how well he can handle pressure situations."

"Not only is his call up to the squad incredibly exciting, but the conditions in India are well-suited to his abilities, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do!"

The tour will consist of a T20I Tri-Series between Australia, India and South Africa from March 2-8, before an ODI Series between Australia and India from March 10-12.

Cricket Victoria congratulates Callum, Jacob, Himath, Justin and Tom on their selection to the Australian Men's Deaf Squad Tour of India.

All matches will be livestreamed on the Indian Deaf Cricket Association's YouTube channel.
