Flood Community Recovery Hub set up

Greater Shepparton City Council has set up a Community Recovery Hub (The Hub) at the Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre to provide information and support community members impacted by the flood event.

Assistance is available from a wide range of health and wellbeing, food relief, insurance, legal and multicultural agencies. There are also representatives from State and Commonwealth Government agencies who can provide support with accessing financial assistance.

These may vary each day but generally include the following:

  • Agriculture Victoria
  • Australia Red Cross
  • DELWP
  • DFFH
  • Ethnic Council
  • GV Community Legal Service
  • Insurance - RACV, Auto & General, Allianz, QBE/Elders, Suncorp,
  • Point of Difference / Fruit Growers Victoria
  • Rural Financial Counselling / Ag Biz Assist
  • Salvos
  • Services Australia
  • State School Relief
  • Well Wise Women

There are interpreters on-site covering Arabic, Dari, Punjabi, Hindi, Turkish and Swahili.

You can drop into The Hub on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10:00am - 4:00pm and Thursdays 12:00noon – 6:00pm.

Limited parking for the community is available at the rear of the facility with additional parking on Marungi Street.

If you require assistance from Disaster Relief Australia to clean out flood damaged items from your home, please register on our website.

If you can volunteer and help out with clean ups you can join Disaster Relief Australia's Mud Army.
