- Residents should relocate personal possessions to a safe place.
- By midday, leave the danger area and move to safety.
Why are people being directed to evacuate?
Once floodwater enters St Georges Basin, properties will be flooded above flood level, road access will be lost, sewerage lines and power to the area may also be lost. If you remain in the area after midday, you will be trapped and it may be too dangerous for NSW SES to rescue you.
Where to go?
Local evacuation centres are NOW OPEN to assist you during the floods. These are located at:
- Bomaderry Bowling Club, 154 Meroo Road, BOMBADERRY.
- Sussex Inlet Bowling Club, St Georges Avenue, SUSSEX INLET.
If you have already evacuated your home, please register your location to let people know you are safe.
Simple things you can do now:
- Lift personal possessions and important items above the predicted flood height of 1.8 metres.
- Take pets, essential items, warm clothes, medicines, insurance documents and valuables with you.
- Leave as early as possible to avoid restricted road access.
