BOM

Issued at 2:45pm AEST on Friday 8 April 2022

Flood warnings for major flooding in parts of the Hawkesbury-Nepean rivers remain current, while rain in south-east New South Wales has eased.

Major flooding is expected in Menangle, Wallacia, North Richmond and Camden today.

Other flood warnings for minor to moderate flooding have been issued for many catchments in New South Wales.

A severe weather warning has been cancelled and rain is expected to ease further over the next few days.

A hazardous surf warning has been issued for northern parts of New South Wales.

Communities across New South Wales are advised there is a heightened risk of flooding in rivers, creeks and streams, flash flooding and landslips as catchments are saturated and dams are full.

The Bureau is recommending communities stay up to date with the latest Bureau warnings through the Bureau's website (www.bom.gov.au/nsw/warnings) and BOM Weather app and follow the advice of emergency services.
