Floriade, Australia's biggest celebration of spring, is back in Commonwealth Park and across the Canberra community once again from 16 September to 15 October 2023.
Over 30 beautiful spring days, Canberra will come alive with colour and vibrancy as Floriade spills out into the community flower beds in what has become a new spring tradition throughout the city. Over 300,000 bulbs and annuals have been distributed to 94 community groups to plant out in their suburbs this year.
Floriade's theme in 2023 is Floral Wonderland and a diverse program of entertainment will be on offer including themed circus performances and cabaret in the Floriade Wonderland Spiegeltent. Visitors can experience the Circus Wonderland: A Neverland Adventure show and take part in interactive workshops for all the family set amongst the flowers, enchanting structures, and stained-glass window displays.
Floriade's Floral Wonderland will delight visitors with creative colourful displays of flowers laid out in fascinating designs. Visitors are encouraged to be inquisitive as they wander through the park's spectacular floral displays and experience Floriade from a different perspective, escaping for a moment into their own wonderland as they explore the beauty of over one million blooms.
Floriade always has delicious food and drinks available from a range of local and interstate vendors, wineries and breweries for visitors to enjoy as they explore the park.
NightFest returns once again in 2023 with an exciting program of after dark entertainment and horticultural illuminations exploring Floriade's Dark Side from 6.30pm to 10.30pm each evening over four nights from 28 September to 1 October 2023.
Dogs' Day Out, an annual highlight of the program, will be held on the final day of Floriade, Sunday 15 October when visitors can bring their furry friends along for a fun walk among the flowers.
And finally, the Great Big Bulb Dig will be back, on Monday 16 October, for visitors to take a piece of Floriade home with them while supporting local charities.
Floriade continues to grow in appeal attracting close to half a million people to the ACT each year providing jobs in the tourism industry, a boost to Canberra's visitor economy and building our reputation as a global destination.
Entry to Floriade is free, and the gates are open from 9.30am to 5.30pm daily.
