Have you caught wind of this month's Fly High in Gerringong Kite Festival?
This free, family-friendly event takes to the air above Michael Cronin Oval on Saturday 12 November from 10:00am to 1:30pm.
Tourism and Events Manager Sally Bursell said Kiama Council was proud to support Fly High in Gerringong, which is being presented by The Rotary Club of Gerringong Sunrise.
"It has been great for Council to provide funding to get this exciting event off the ground via the NSW Government, Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program," Ms Bursell said.
"The funding has provided the tools for Gerringong Primary School students to create their very own kites for the festival."
"Australian Kite Fliers Association will also be on hand to help rookie pilots harness the notorious Gerringong wind."
Fly High in Gerringong will also feature:
- The Hot Potato Band with their wind and drum instruments
- The Gerringong Library and Museum (GLaM) roaming storybook
- The Men's Shed kite-making workshops (kites will also be available for sale)
- Kid's face painting
