Focus Groups: Key Worker And Affordable Housing Project

Warrnambool Council

Council is planning a Key Worker and Affordable Housing development to be situated along Harrington Road.

The project will include a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes, all with off-street parking.

The project responds to the housing shortage that is impacting the city.

The will be on Council-owned land. About 50 homes, a mix of one, two and three-bedrooms, will be made available to key workers - such as nurses and engineers - and to individuals and families seeking affordable and accessible housing.

Through an Expression of Interest process, Council has selected Haven Home Safe and its consortium partners as the preferred Community Housing Agency for the project. At this stage, Haven and the consortium are partnering with Council to develop the concept of the project.

Haven Home Safe is an established Community Housing Agency and has completed developments in Tarneit, Epping, Carrum Downs, Doncaster, Bendigo and Geelong.

Modular housing specialist based in Geelong, FormFlow Living, is a consortium partner of Haven Home Safe.

Council is continuing conversations with the community about the housing project and will run a series of focus groups next month.
