Football Queensland has launched a dedicated Flood Support Hub to connect clubs impacted by the state's major flood event with support from the wider football community.
The Flood Support Hub housed on Football Queensland's Club Support Hub provides a go-to place for clubs to seek support from the community as they commence their clean-up and recovery efforts.
Football Queensland CEO Robert Cavallucci said local clubs in a number of regions had been majorly impacted by the recent weather event.
"It is devastating to see the impacts of the floods being felt at clubs right across South East Queensland and Wide Bay, with fields underwater, clubhouses damaged and significant work required to get facilities back to their original state," FQ CEO Robert Cavallucci said.
"Our clubs are all run by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain their fields and provide great venues for participants to play football each week.
"In times like these it is so important for our football community to come together to help those of us in need, and Football Queensland is focused on providing as much support as we can to our clubs by connecting them with the wider community through the Flood Support Hub.
"We urge all impacted clubs to put the call out via our Flood Support Hub for any type of support they require in the coming days and weeks which will be promoted on FQ's Community Noticeboard and social media channels; whether it's hands on deck to sweep water from the clubhouse, or people with expertise in specific areas to assess damages.
"We also encourage any members of our football community who would like to volunteer to help to register via the Flood Support Hub to receive the latest updates on clubs requiring assistance.
"Football Queensland will continue to monitor any relevant funding that becomes available and will keep clubs updated on this as more information is released."
In addition to seeking support from volunteers, clubs can also view tips for setting up a GoFundMe page and download a relevant social media tile template on the Flood Support Hub.
