Round 2 of the Forestry Transition Fund grants program is now open with grants up to $1 million available to businesses in communities affected by the end of native timber harvesting to create new industry and jobs.
Applicants that directly employ displaced native timber workers on their project may also be eligible for a $20,000 Transitioning Timber Worker Employment Incentive Payment.
Applications will be accepted from business and industry groups, including chambers of commerce and associations, peak bodies and business networks, as well as councils and incorporated not-for-profit organisations that act as a business.
The Forestry Transition Fund – Round 2 grants program supports business development and the creation of jobs, particularly for ex native timber workers, in towns and communities affected by the end of native timber harvesting.
