Former Officer Charged With DV-related Offences

A former police officer has been charged with alleged domestic violence related offences.

In 2023, officers from Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Doumi to investigate reports of alleged domestic-violence related offences which occurred between 2022 and 2023.

Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home today (Thursday 8 August 2024) where police located and seized electronic devices.

A 58-year-old man – who was a police officer attached to a command within the North West Metropolitan Region at the time of the alleged offences – was arrested at the scene.

The man was charged with two counts of distribute intimate image, two counts of record intimate image/recording, and three counts of intimidate person with intent of causing fear of physical or mental harm and aggravated sexual act.

He was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Friday 9 August 2024).

The man is no longer employed by the NSW Police Force.
