Four Arrested in Drug Bust by Organised Crime Squad

Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged four men as part of an investigation into alleged drug and firearm supply across the state.

Strike Force Brevifolia was established by State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission in May 2024 to investigate a number of criminal networks supplying large commercial quantities of drugs in NSW.

During the investigation, detectives identified a Sydney-based syndicate allegedly dealing both prohibited drugs and firearms.

Following extensive inquiries, about 12pm yesterday (Thursday 25 July 2024), strike force detectives arrested three men at different locations in Matraville, Merrylands and Chullora.

A 40-year-old man arrested at a gym in Chullora was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with knowingly direct activities of criminal group, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug >indictable & = large commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 26 July 2024).

A 23-year-old man arrested in Matraville was taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences, including two counts of supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person, supply ammunition, three counts of supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug >indictable & indictable &

He was refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court today.

A 21-year-old man arrested in Merrylands was taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and participate criminal group contribute criminal.

He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

During subsequent search warrants in Chester Hill, Matraville and Wiley Park, police located and seized approximately $340,000 in cash, 12kgs of cocaine, three high-end watches, two Audi motor vehicles, mobile phones, 2.6kg of cannabis, cocaine, ketamine, gloves and a balaclava.

At the search in Maroubra, a fourth man – aged 48 – was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug >indictable &

He was refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court today.

Police had also previously seized two ounces of meth, 1kg of MDMA, one ounce of cocaine and two prohibited firearms linked to the syndicate.
