Three men and a woman have been arrested after they allegedly threatened a couple with a knife and stole their car at Birkenhead earlier tonight, according to SA Police.
Just after 8pm, a couple were driving north on Fletcher Road when they reached the intersection of Hargrave Street, they slowed for four people standing on the round-about.
As they slowed down, a male from the group produced a knife, opened the driver's door and threatened the woman demanding the car.
The couple existed the vehicle, and two men from the group of four drove off in their 2002 gold Toyota Camry, while the other two from the group ran after the car.
Moments later the stolen car crashed into several parked cars near Hargrave and Robert Street at Birkenhead.
The four suspects then ran from the area, but a search by several patrols including a police dog patrol located all four nearby.
The stolen Toyota was located in nearby Darton Street Birkenhead.
A 23-year-old man from Taperoo, a 22 and 20-year-old man from both Port Adelaide and a 22-year-old woman from Peterhead, were all arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
They are all expected to be refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
The couple that had their car stolen were no physically injured in the ordeal.
