Four Arrested Over Melbourne Armed Robbery Spree

Four boys have been arrested following a spate of armed robberies across multiple Melbourne suburbs this morning.

Two of the boys were arrested by the Special Operations Group on the Princes Freeway in Officer about 5.15pm. While the other two boys were arrested in Clayton this afternoon.

The arrests relate to incidents were on each occasion a group of up to four boys entered business outlets within a spate of five hours between 6 and 11.30am.

Police have been told during the incidents the offenders were armed with edged weapons when they entered the stores and made demands for cash and cigarettes.

The locations targeted include a:

• service station in Hampton about 6.10am

• service station in Centre Road Bentleigh about 6.40am

• milkbar in Macleod about 7.45am.

• hairdresser and café in Mulgrave just before 11am

• tobacco store in Dingley Village about 11.20am.

The quartet, aged 14, 15, 16 and 17 are all assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation remains ongoing with Eastern Region Crime Squad still making enquiries in relation to an outstanding offender.
