Four teenagers will face court today, charged after an alleged break and enter and pursuit in Sydney's south yesterday.
About 6am yesterday (Friday 7 March 2025), police were called to a house on Ilkinia Place, Engadine, following reports a 4WD had been stolen.
Officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police, including officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, saw the 4WD a short time later at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Church Street, Blakehurst.
It will be alleged that when the driver failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued onto King Georges Road, allegedly reaching speeds of 110km/h where it was terminated for safety reasons.
Shortly afterward, the 4WD crashed into multiple cars stopped at the intersection of King Georges Road and Stoney Creek Road, with four people running from the car.
A woman – who was inside one of the stationary cars – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but did not require hospital treatment. The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.
Three boys were arrested a short time later at Beverly Hills Train Station, with a fourth boy arrested on Stoney Creek Road, Beverly Hills.
All four were taken to Kogarah Police Station, where two boys, aged 14 and 17, were charged with aggravated break and enter in company, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and larceny.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and breach of bail, while a 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, be carried conveyance taken without consent of owner, and custody of knife in public place.
All four have been bail refused to appear before a children's court today (Saturday 8 March 2025).
Police will allege in court that before stealing the 4WD, the group entered a two other cars parked on Croston Road, Engadine, where they stole items, including a wallet containing cash.
