Four Charged After Police Car Rammed in Springvale

Springvale police have charged four males found in possession of an allegedly stolen vehicle in Springvale last night.

Police responded to reports of a vehicle containing four males wearing balaclavas and gloves, in a Princes Highway carpark about 8pm.

Officers arrived on scene and used their vehicles to box in an allegedly stolen silver Nissan X Trail.

The Nissan allegedly reversed at speed, colliding with a parked car, before driving forward and ramming a police vehicle.

Three males were removed from the allegedly stolen vehicle and arrested, whilst a fourth male allegedly took off from the scene on foot.

Swift responding officers allegedly ran him down and arrested him in a nearby backyard.

There were no injuries.

Investigators allege that the Nissan was stolen from a Clyde North address earlier this week.

A 14-year-old boy from the Cranbourne area, a 16-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area and a 13-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They were bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 21-year-old man from Clyde North was charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before Dandenong Magistrates' Court at a later date.
