Police have charged three men and one woman after allegedly evading police throughout Melbourne's northern and western suburbs this morning.
Officers were called to reports of a group of people attempting to break into properties along Jukes Road in Fawkner about 3.45am.
It is believed that the group fled the scene in two vehicles, one of which was a blue Volkswagen Passat.
The Airwing was called in and followed the Volkswagen, which allegedly travelled erratically and at a fast rate of speed before it was dumped at Airport Drive.
Police believe that the occupants then took off in a white Mitsubishi Triton.
That vehicle was dumped on Sydney Road near the intersection of Mahoney's Road after stop sticks were successfully deployed.
One man was arrested at the scene while the remaining occupants were got into a blue Ford Territory which allegedly rammed a police vehicle before continuing east along Mahoney's Road.
No one was injured as a result of the ramming.
The Ford was then dumped on Pearson Crescent in Coolaroo where police arrested a man and a woman.
Another man was arrested shortly after on Glenelg Street.
The Mitsubishi was allegedly stolen from an address in Mickleham in August and the Ford was displaying false plates.
A 36-year-old Roxburgh Park man has been charged with dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, theft of motor vehicle, possess methamphetamine, as well as other firearm, traffic and theft related offences.
He has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
A 35-year-old Roxburgh Park man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and going equipped to steal.
A 37-year-old Preston woman has been charged with use unregistered vehicle, handle stolen goods, affix false number plates and damage to emergency service vehicle by reckless driving.
A 33-year-old Broadmeadows man has been charged with dangerous driving whist being pursued by police, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and other driving offences.
All three have been bailed to face Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 13 February.
