Four Charged in Bathurst Kidnapping, Break-In

Two men have been charged over an alleged kidnapping, and two men have been charged over an alleged break and enter in the state's west.

About 6:45am yesterday (Saturday 2 November 2024), a 35-year-old man was allegedly kidnapped from a property on Havenhand Way, Mitchell.

A black Nissan Navara with a woman and three men were allegedly seen driving from the property, while another man allegedly walked off.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended the home and established a crime scene.

The 35-year-old was allegedly assaulted, before being released.

Following inquiries, about 5:20pm, police attended a home on Suttor Street, Windrayne, and arrested a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.

They were taken to Bathurst Police Station and both charged with take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

Both were refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Sunday 3 November 2024).

About 9pm, police were called to same home on Suttor Street, Windrayne, following reports of an alleged break in.

Officers attended and arrested four men who were taken to Bathurst Police Station.

Following inquiries, two of the men were released.

A 33-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal and steal dog.

A second 33-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal, steal dog, possess prohibited drug, and three counts of possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance.

They were both refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Sunday 3 November 2024).
