Four people have died in a two-vehicle crash in the state's west.
About 9.20pm Friday (27 September 2024) emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Tomingley, approximately 35 kilometres south of Dubbo, following reports of a multi vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the scene and found a Toyota Hilux and a Toyota Hiace van had collided.
Two men who were in the utility - aged 19 and 18 - and a man and a woman, who were in the van - both aged 57 – all died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.
The 23-year-old male driver of the ute was taken to Dubbo Hospital with suspected leg injuries.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the crash.
The Newell Highway has reopened between Tomingley and Dubbo; however motorists are advised to allow extra travel time as emergency services and traffic crews remain at the scene.
