Frankston aggravated burglary and police car ramming

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary in Frankston, where a car was stolen overnight and used to ram a police vehicle.

It is understood offenders entered a property on Gould Street and stole the keys for two cars.

They stole a silver Ford Focus and a grey Kia Sportage, then fled the scene in the vehicles.

Two occupants were inside the property at the time, and they were not injured.

Police spotted the Ford Focus driving erratically on Seaford Road in Seaford about 1.10am.

The car was intercepted near Wells Road, where it came to a stop before reversing at speed into a police vehicle.

Two police officers sustained minor injuries.

The Ford Focus fled the scene and was located on Marion Street in Seaford about 6.20am.

Investigators have released images of the damaged police car and Ford Focus.

The 2014 grey Kia Sportage wagon with registration 1BE2SN remains outstanding.
