Police are reminding residents to be aware of persons posing as tradesmen offering to conduct work on their houses.
This comes following two incidents in the Roma area on Thursday February 13.
In Amby, west of Roma a woman has reported two men attending her house, and painting her roof without consent, then advising payment was due the following day.
The same day a resident from Mount Abundance reported two men attended in a white SUV claiming they were in the area to paint houses.
The resident of the incident in Mount Abundance, suspecting it may have been a scam, reported the car registration to police which has revealed it to be a rental vehicle.
Officer in Charge of Mitchell Police Station, Sergeant Jeremy Smith said it was important for the community to remain vigilant and encouraged victims to come forward.
"The Queensland Police Service is committed to keeping residents safe from these sorts of scammers targeting our local communities," Sergeant Smith said.
"We are encouraging anyone who may have seen this white SUV or had a similar experience in or around Roma over the past week to contact Policelink and quote the following number QI2500268722 or alternatively contact Crime Stoppers anonymously to provide information."
