Free Admission For Kids At This Year's Perth Royal Show

  • $5.2 million in Cook Government funding to reduce the cost of Perth Royal Show tickets
  • Admission free for children aged 15 and under, while adult and concession tickets will be half price
  • Cook Government providing cost-of-living relief by supporting families to enjoy this much-loved event

The Cook Government is providing $5.2 million to help Western Australian families experience the magic of the Perth Royal Show.

This year, admission to the show will be free for children aged 15 and under, with adult and concession tickets half price. Up to four children will be free for each paid adult ticket.

The funds will also support the nightly fireworks spectacular, which is set to be the biggest in the show's history. Fireworks will be launched from 100 locations, along with a spectacular agriculture-themed drone show.

Exciting new additions to this year's show include the 'Long Paddock' precinct featuring premium WA food and wine with views across the arena, the 'Indoor Feasting Barn' and 'PAWvilion'.

Showgoers will also be able to enjoy their favourite attractions such as the agricultural competitions, Animal Nursery, Sideshow Alley and more than 300 showbags. In addition, the Yellow Brick Road agriculture trail will make a return for the first since 2017.

The discounted tickets mean more WA families will now be able to enjoy the iconic annual event, which has brought the country to the city for more than 185 years.

In addition, a Lotterywest Grant of $690,000 will help fund support for volunteers, as well as improving access for people with a disability, Aboriginal people and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

More than 300,000 people are expected to flock to this year's Perth Royal Show from 21-28 September, boosting the tourism economy with more than 59,000 visitor nights spent in metropolitan Perth.

The annual event hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) brings together the WA community with 15,000 hours of volunteer time and more than 5,000 competition entries, including livestock, wool, shearing, cakes, crafts and more.

As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

"The Perth Royal Show is a great day out, where visitors young and old can learn more about the agricultural industries which put food on our plates and clothes on our backs.

"From the WA Student Assistance Payment to electricity credits and reducing the cost of a day at the Show - my Government is doing everything it can to support cost-of-living relief for WA families."

As stated by Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis:

"The Perth Royal Show is part of the fabric of Western Australia and showcases our State's diverse and vital primary industries.

"WA's delicious homegrown produce is always a highlight of the show and there's plenty of new attractions for foodies this year. I'm excited about the return of the Yellow Brick Road agricultural trail.

"Since the very first show in 1834, the Perth Royal Show has brought people together to celebrate the best the agricultural industry has to offer."
