Free Influenza Vaccines In May And June

Influenza campaign to protect more Western Australians.

WA Health has launched its annual influenza (flu) prevention campaign to raise awareness about the serious risks of influenza and to encourage all eligible Western Australians, including those 'at risk', to get vaccinated.

Influenza is a common, highly contagious and potentially serious viral respiratory illness that can lead to hospitalisation and even death for higher risk individuals.

Launched today, the campaign is aimed at groups who are most at risk of serious complications from influenza like children, pregnant women, older adults, Aboriginal people and people with certain medical conditions.

Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect yourself and others from serious influenza-related illnesses. By getting vaccinated against influenza, you can also help protect people who are too sick or too young to be vaccinated. The more people vaccinated, the less chance there is of influenza spreading.
