Cessnock LGA residents can dispose of mattresses for free between 8am and 12pm on Saturday 28 June.
Unwanted mattresses and ensemble bases can be taken to the Hunter Business Enterprise Centre carpark on the corner of Merthyr and Barton Streets, Kurri Kurri.
Each household can drop-off up to four mattresses or bases as part of the recycling program.
Proof of residence in the Cessnock LGA is required in order to participate.
Cessnock City Mayor Daniel Watton said more than 2,400 mattresses were handed in during last year's drop-off events.
"This initiative means people can dispose of these bulky household items without having to pay the $44 tip fee usually required to dump a mattress at Cessnock Waste Management Centre," said Clr Watton.
"Last year's mattress drop-off days were highly successful, and I encourage residents to take advantage of the program again this June."
