We're committed to not only protecting but growing the number of trees throughout our area.
Together with our community, we aim to increase our tree canopy cover from 18 to 25 per cent by 2040. Through street tree and park planting, protection of local tree habitats, and tree planting in homes.
From your backyard, to your school, apartment building or business, we need your help to plant 1,000 more trees across the City of Canada Bay this year
Come and pick up your free native plant or tree this Sunday, 20 June from 8:30am-12:30pm at Concord Rotary Farmer's Market, Crane Street, Concord.
Since adopting our Urban Tree Canopy Strategy in 2019, we have planted:
We'll be planting even more trees over the next year, including at Cabarita and Concord, Concord West, Drummoyne and Russell Lea, and Five Dock.
We're working hard to plant as many trees as we can throughout our streets, parks and open spaces, but we need your help to plant more trees on private property.
Aside from making our area more beautiful, tree cover provides us with shade for walking, reduces heat in our streets, and provides habitat for birds and other local wildlife.
We're encouraging our whole community to roll up their sleeves and get planting. To help you get started, we'll be hosting free native plant and tree giveaways throughout the year. Click here to stay up to date.
