City of Darwin's popular native plant giveaway program continues, with more than 2000 native plants available on Saturday 10 August at the Jingili Water Gardens.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis encouraged people to arrive early to have the best chance of snapping up some plants for their garden.
"These events are always very popular, and stocks are limited so I suggest arriving early to ensure you don't miss out," Mr Vatskalis said.
"We will have 2000 native forestry tube stock plants available, including trees, shrubs and grasses.
"Native plant giveaways are part of our strategy to create a cooler, greener and more liveable city.
"Greening our municipality is one of our top priorities and we will provide more than 15,000 free plants to residents this financial year through our native plant giveaways.
"This is supported by the revegetation of key biodiversity areas with more than 4,000 native plants and more than 400 street and park trees planted across the municipality.
The native plant giveaway will run from 8am to 11am with plants available to Darwin residents only.
There is a limit of six plants per household. Proof of Darwin residency must be provided.
