A free series of workshops will be held over June for local event organisers, volunteer managers and community groups as part of a program called 'Connecting'.
"These workshops aim to support event organisers and volunteers, by providing free training," Manager Environmental and Economic Planning, Sharyn French.
"These free workshops for our vibrant events community are proudly funded by the NSW Government via the NSW Social Cohesion Grants for Local Government – Round 2. There are so many great small events in the Byron Shire each year, and we hope these workshops will help them become even better.
"Event organisers and volunteers are encouraged to register now!" she said.
The workshop schedule is as follows:
- Disability Confidence Training – Thursday 13 June from 1pm to 2.30pm.
- Community Capacity Building – Friday 14 June from 3pm to 4.30pm.
- Accessible Festival and Events – Monday 17 June from 10am to 12.30pm.
- Volunteer Management – Tuesday 18 June from 2pm to 3.30pm.
- Anti-Racism – Monday 24 June from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Registration is essential as spaces are limited. All training sessions will have an option to join online or in person at a Mullumbimby venue.
