The South-Eastern freeway has been closed to all traffic near Monarto following a serious crash between two trucks overnight.
Just on 2.30am on Saturday 6 April, two trucks travelling west on the freeway collided, with one hitting the rear of the other.
Shortly after the collision one of the trucks caught fire, which spread to nearby grass and scrub, requiring the attendance of several CFS crews to extinguish the fire and stop it from flaring up.
The freeway has been closed to all traffic in both directions and expected to remain closed until around midday with numerous emergency services trucks on scene. Diversions are in place between Callington and Monarto, expect long delays if driving in the area.
Major Crash Investigators are at the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
