This winter, we're building a new public toilet on Thomas Street, Hampton (near the shopping strip).
We're expecting to start work in June and take up to 3 months, weather permitting.
To increase capacity and protect existing trees, the new double- cubicle public toilet will be constructed next to the current Exeloo site. The old facility will be removed to allow for new landscaping, seating, a drinking fountain and bicycle parking.
The new facility will have a low-profile design that blends with the surrounding environment.
The new public toilet will enhance accessibility with features such as an accessible path from the car park, wide entrances, and a spacious cubicle to accommodate people with mobility challenges and families with prams.
One accessible car park will be relocated closer to the upgraded public toilet for improved convenience.
We're planning for and providing the infrastructure our community uses every day. This project is being delivered as part of Bayside's Public Toilet Strategy.
The upgraded facilities will support local shoppers and traders, reflecting our commitment to economic development and helping our community grow the local economy.
