Access to Crystal Cascades and a section of the Freshwater Creek pathway in Redlynch will be closed for several days for safety.
The Freshwater Creek from the Rocks Road causeway to the Goomboora Park T-intersection at the cane fields will be closed for five days, from Friday 24 June to 29 Wednesday 29 June, inclusive, while cane harvesting takes place in the area.
Public access to Crystal Cascades will also be closed for a two-day period on Tuesday 28 June and Wednesday 29 June to allow for necessary replacement works of ageing pipe work and flowmeter infrastructure.
These remediation works will increase efficiencies in the network, and allow for better control of the flow of water to Freshwater Treatment Plant, and improve environmental flows to Freshwater Creek.
Water supply will not be affected by these works.
The Crystal Cascades works must take place as soon as possible to allow crews to move onto another reservoir maintenance project in the same catchment, both of which must be completed in the dry season.
Closure dates:
- Friday 24 June to Wednesday 29 June, inclusive: Freshwater Creek path access closed from the Rocks Road causeway to the Goomboora Park T-intersection at the cane fields
- Tuesday 28 June and Wednesday 29 June: Crystal Cascades access closed.
