Fun and games for Children's Week

Families across Wellington Shire will have plenty to celebrate during Children's Week, with free outdoor play sessions held in several locations.

Children's Week, from 24 to 30 October, celebrates the talents, skills and achievements of children, and their right to connect with others and respectfully share their views.

This year's theme for the week is 'Children have the right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others'.

To celebrate Children's Week, Wellington Libraries will host a series of free one-hour fun events for children and their families.

The events will include giant books and giant outdoor games available for children to play with.

The sessions will be held as follows:

  • Wednesday 27 October from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Stratford Memorial Park Playground, Stratford
  • Friday 29 October from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Macalister River Park, Maffra
  • Saturday 30 October from 10am to 11am at Port of Sale, Sale (sold out)

Places are limited at each venue and bookings are essential. Bookings can be made by visiting www.eventbrite.com/d/australia--sale/wellington-shire-libraries/

This Children's Week activity is presented by Wellington Shire in partnership with the Victorian Government.
