Fun Day at Katoomba, Springwood Libraries Invites Families

Blue Mountains City Council is making it easier for library members to borrow and manage loans with the introduction of new self-service kiosks and return shelves at its Katoomba, Springwood and Blaxland libraries. Rainbow Cake

The project received grant funding from the Australian Government and will be launched with a 'Library Fun Day' at Katoomba and Springwood libraries at 10am-12pm on Saturday 14 October.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill said: "Our libraries are central to the community, offering spaces for people to connect with information, technology, culture and learning."

"By modernising library technology, Council is meeting growing community demand for library collections and increased expectations for flexibility in its services."

"The technology upgrade will benefit library visitors by increasing staff availability to provide assistance and to develop and deliver the full range of programs and services that the Blue Mountains community has come to know and love."

The free event will include take home colouring-in bags, activities for people of all ages, technology demonstrations and cake. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the Blue Mountains Library service and learn about all that the library has to offer. All are welcome to attend.
