Australia Day is a time to reflect on the story of our country, celebrating its diversity and multiculturalism while acknowledging our past.

The Albanese Labor Government is providing $10 million in the Budget for the 2025 Australia Day Events national grant program.

The Government will also provide additional funding of $1.5 million per year from 2024-25 for National Australia Day Council operations.

The National Australia Day Council is given responsibility for inspiring national pride and unity.

The Albanese Government is investing in inclusive and accessible Australia Day events for all Australians, including those from regional and remote Australia.

The funding will provide financial support for hundreds of events around the country, fostering a more inclusive and culturally rich nation.

The funding will also provide financial support for Indigenous culture in Australia Day events.

This commitment supports a more inclusive and culturally vibrant Australia.

By supporting a wider range of community events around Australia, we will foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for our nation's rich tapestry.
