Western Australian small to medium arts and cultural sector organisations have received organisational funding through Australia's national arts body, Creative Australia, providing support for a four-year period from 2025 to 2028.

The commitment will support a thriving cultural and creative industry for the State, with increased investment following the release of the National Cultural Policy, Revive, earlier this year.

The increased number of WA organisations successful in receiving funding included three first time recipients: Centre for Stories, Sensorium Theatre and STRUT Dance Incorporated.

Other successful organisations include:

  • Barking Gecko
  • Broome Aboriginal Media Association Aboriginal Corporation
  • DADAA Ltd Warburton Youth Arts Centre
  • Magabala Books Aboriginal Corporation
  • Performing Arts Society Inc (Blue Room)
  • pvi collective ltd
  • Tura New Music Ltd
  • Yirra Yaakin Aboriginal Corporation

The Cook Government provides multi-year funding for 37 arts and cultural organisations through the Arts Organisations Investment Program which was announced earlier this year. These organisations offer a diverse range of high-quality arts and cultural experiences to the WA community.

The small to medium sector is a vital part of the cultural economy and multi-year funding provides organisational sustainability and supports jobs in the sector. The increased national funding will build further capacity in some of our best arts and culture organisations and is welcomed by the WA sector.

The State Government provides a range of funding programs to support culture and the arts in WA. For further information, visit the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries' website.

As stated by Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

"The Cook Government recognises the great value of arts and culture to our State and welcomes this increased national investment in our sector.

"We have a strong and diverse group of arts and cultural organisations in WA, and I am so pleased to see a number of them receive this additional support.

"We are currently developing a 10 Year Vision for Arts and Culture in Western Australia which will support the growth and development of this key sector so that they can continue to provide such important outcomes in our community."
