Four successful NAIDOC planning committees will receive grants from MidCoast Council to help deliver NAIDOC week activities this July.
Funding of $4,000 will be provided to each of the committees for whole-of-community events to celebrate NAIDOC week.
From 6 February to 10 March this year eligible organisations were invited to apply for funding through Council's community donations program.
Gloucester Worimi First Peoples Aboriginal Corporation were successful in securing financial support to run a Family Fun Day including bush tucker tastings, kid's art and craft, dancers, weaving, clay making and more.
The grant will assist Purfleet Aboriginal Lands Council to host a NAIDOC event on the banks of the Manning River in Queen Elizabeth Park, Taree. The event will be a day of fun activities sharing cultural knowledge and wisdom with the whole community.
Forster Local Aboriginal Land Council will hold a Cabarita Community Day. It will be an opportunity for everyone to celebrate local Aboriginal history and culture through fun interactive activities and local Elders story-sharing.
Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Aboriginal Reference Group in partnership with Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council / Murrook Cultural Centre will invite the local community to experience Worimi Culture at an event at Myall Park Sports Complex.
