Detectives from the Gang Crime Squad have made further arrests as part of their investigating into an aggravated home invasion in Kurunjang last year.
Investigators executed a warrant at an address on Baradine Court, Sunbury and arrested two male teenagers about 9am this morning.
An 18-year-old from Deer Park and a 17-year-old from Fraser Rise both remain in custody assisting detectives with their enquiries and are expected to be charged later today.
Earlier this week, detectives arrested an 18-year-old Fitzroy man and a 17-year-old male from Keilor Downs.
Both teens were subsequently charged with:
• aggravated home invasion
• three counts of false imprisonment
• intentionally cause injury
• three counts of make threats to kill
• theft of motor vehicle
The arrests form part of an ongoing investigation into an aggravated home invasion in Kurunjang on 9 December 2020.
It's alleged a group of males broke into the property on Highfield Way about 2.50am, armed with a range of weapons.
The two men and woman residing at the property were threatened, with one man seriously assaulted and requiring hospitalisation.
The Gang Crime Squad was established within Crime Command to target street gangs, with a focus on disrupting and preventing their criminal offending.
The squad also works closely with the regions to provide agile investigative support and intelligence to local police when it comes to high harm high impact offences.
