Further Charges - Innaloo Incident

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged another five people in relation to an incident which occurred in Innaloo on Tuesday 23 July 2024.

It will be alleged, about 4am, a number of people forced entry to a home on King George Street and assaulted the 68-year-old male resident.

The persons stole an amount of jewellery before they left the scene.

The resident was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with serious injuries. He has since undergone facial surgery and been released.

Following inquiries, about 9.30pm that day, detectives arrested a 29-year-old Butler man in relation to the above incident and charged him with various offences. He remains before the court.

A vehicle – which police will allege was used during the above incident – was also seized.

Following further inquiries, on Sunday 4 August 2024, Mirrabooka and Joondalup Detectives – with the assistance of the Tactical Response Group – simultaneously executed search warrants at homes in Joondalup, Yanchep and Greenwood.

Detectives arrested six people – four males and two females – at the homes.

The males – aged 30 and 31, and two aged 35 – and a 33-year-old female were charged with a total of 29 offences – relating to the above incident and others – including Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Armed Robbery and Possession of Unlicenced Firearms and possession of illicit drugs.

The second female was released pending further inquiries.

All five appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday 5 August 2024.

During the investigation, detectives seized an amount of jewellery, ammunition, three firearms and drugs.

The firearms – a modified sawn off .22 calibre shotgun, home-made shotgun, and .22 calibre rifle – will be forensically examined.
