Detectives have charged four further people following an investigation into the alleged armed robbery and carjacking of another man in Sydney's south earlier this year.
Just before 3am on Monday 22 June 2020, emergency services were called to a unit complex on Bay Street at Brighton Le Sands, following reports a 45-year-old man had been assaulted.
Police were told that three unknown men, all armed with weapons, physically assaulted the man, before stealing his vehicle – a late model red Mustang Coupe.
Officers from St George Police Area Command, together with detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Tremere.
Following a public appeal for information, strike force detectives arrested a 27-year-old man at a home at Mt Druitt on Friday 23 October 2020. He was charged and remains before the courts.
As part of ongoing investigations, detectives arrested a 31-year-old man at a unit at Wentworth Point about 10.45am on Friday 27 November 2020.
He was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasion actual bodily harm and aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it (armed with weapon).
The Sefton man appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday 28 November 2020 and is next due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Monday 25 January 2021.
About 12.30pm last Monday (30 November 2020), detectives attended a correctional facility at Silverwater and arrested a 21-year-old man.
He was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasion actual bodily harm and aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it (armed with weapon).
The Villawood man appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday (1 December 2020), where he was remanded in custody to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 16 December 2020.
About 10.30am last Tuesday (1 December 2020), detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at King Street, Newtown.
He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasion actual bodily harm and aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it (armed with weapon).
The Hurstville man appeared at Central Local Court the same day, where he was refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 21 January 2021.
Following further investigations, a 17-year-old boy was arrested at a home at Guildford about 6.40am today (Thursday 10 December 2020).
The boy was taken to Merrylands Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable offence occasion actual bodily harm and aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it (armed with weapon).
He was refused bail and is due to appear at a children's court today.
