GALLERY: University Hosts 'paw-some' Day

This weekend the University of Liverpool's Leahurst veterinary campus opened its doors for VetFest: Open House, an action-packed day of family fun.

3000 people enjoyed a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities including:

Animal displays

Face painting
A couple of children with their faces painted

Merseyside Police Horses
Police officers riding horses

Activities for the whole family

Tours of Leahurst's equine and small animal hospital facilities
A vet shows children specialised equipment

A dog competition with categories including 'waggiest tail'!

Professor Paul Lunn, Dean of the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool said: "We were delighted to welcome so many visitors of all ages to a very special open day in the run up to the School of Veterinary Science's 120th anniversary later this year. It was a privilege to give our community a glimpse behind the scenes at Leahurst and the chance to meet some of our animals, and discover the exciting work we do every day."
