The Geelong Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) will temporarily stop accepting garden organics, soil and rubble from 1 February, to allow part of the facility to close for upgrade works.
Alternative drop-off sites for these materials are available at Green Care Mulching, 72-80 Buckley Grove Moolap, and Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre, Becks Rd Drysdale. Comparable disposal fees apply.
The upgrade works, which are expected to be complete before mid-year, will improve the capacity and traffic flow of Geelong RRC to make it easier for customers to drop off items for recycling and disposal.
The addition of a cardboard compactor will also allow more cardboard to be collected from the public and recycled.
Geelong RRC will remain open during the works and will continue accepting other items for drop-off, including old electronics, whitegoods and clean cardboard.

These works will make it easier and safer for visitors to dispose of their waste and recycling.It's wonderful to see how many in our community use our Resource Recovery Centres and are willing to help protect the environment by doing the right thing with their waste.

Due to recent changes to accepted items like plastic recycling, fire extinguishers and solar panels, residents are encouraged to always check our website for an updated list before planning a visit.
The free drop-off facilities at Geelong and Drysdale RRC are strictly for residential quantities only. Business customers should contact a commercial recycler for their waste.
