Gender Equity Network Levels Hume Sports Field

Hume City Council is calling on locals to join the Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network as it breaks down the barriers to participation for female and gender diverse people in sports.

Started in 2023, the Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network brings together members of the local sport groups, organisations and individuals to advocate for gender equality in sport.

The Network has been developed in partnership with Women's Health in the North, DPV Health and Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, and funded by the VicHealth Local Government Partnership.

Expressions of Interest are now open for new members in 2025 for anyone who lives, works, or plays in Hume.

By sharing knowledge and collaborating with others, the Network members will play a vital role in supporting the Council in implementing the actions outlined in the Fair Access Policy Action Plan. This plan will be used to guide local clubs in fostering fair and equitable spaces.

By becoming part of the Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network you will:

  • Enhance your knowledge and skills in promoting gender equity

  • Collaborate with like-minded community members

  • Be a key driver of change in Hume's sporting landscape

  • Stay up to date with requirements of the Fair Access Policy

Join the Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network and become part of a supportive, dynamic community dedicated to promoting gender equality in sport by submitting an application.

The Network will meet for four sixty-minute sessions between April and October 2025, with topics of sessions developed based on the needs of the group.
