Tasmanians can boost their digital skills at their local library with free digital support and events during Get Online Week from 14 to 20 October 2024.
Get Online Week is an initiative of national charity Good Things Foundation Australia that supports Australians to get online with hundreds of free digital skills events.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said libraries across the State will be offering in-person support.
"Our libraries have so much to offer in supporting our community to get online and take advantage of all the wonderful free resources they can access with a Libraries Tasmania membership," Minister Palmer said.
"Libraries Tasmania is offering free in-person support to set up devices and get online at libraries in Hobart, Glenorchy, Kingston, Rosny, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.
"Get Online Week events are also being held at George Town, Devonport, Queenstown, and Wynyard libraries."

The in-person support offered by libraries during Get Online Week includes help to use free online resources that can be accessed with a Libraries Tasmania membership.
These include reading newspapers, magazines and books, learning a new language and watching films and more.
