For immediate release.
Internal building works at 41 Miller Street, previously known as 'The Tavern' are now completed and the transition of services into the renovated building has commenced.
The naming of the Aged Care and Disability Services building was determined by Gilgandra Shire Council at its May meeting as The GIL Care Connect, with the tag line of Home > Heart > Community.
The consolidation of GSC's Aged Care and Disability services marks a significant milestone in the strategic planning and future service delivery for the community. This initiative underscores Council's commitment to enhancing access to essential services for residents, aligning with key objectives outlined in the recently launched Towards 5000: Community Health Vision, particularly in areas such as integrated health services and equity, strengthening local health infrastructure, and fostering connected, welcoming and accessible spaces for all.
Director Aged Care & Disabilities, Donna Dobson, says the divisions are eager to finalise the transition and are looking forward to welcoming clients and community to The GIL Care Connect.
"We're incredibly excited to bring all our services together in one central location, right in the heart of the CBD. This consolidation will not only make it easier for our clients and community to access the services they need, but it will also streamline our workflows, creating more efficient processes that lead to better outcomes for our clients. This consolidation will also enable us to provide a more connected and seamless experience, ensuring our clients receive the best possible care and support."
A selection of name options was developed by a cross-functional internal team before being presented to Council.
The name, "The GIL Care Connect" was chosen as it reflects the services we deliver now, as well as our broader vision for the future. It's local, it's welcoming, and it reinforces Council's commitment to supporting people in our community through all stages of life."
Adding,
"Council felt this name clearly communicates the purpose of the building, whilst still feeling uniquely local. The GIL Care Connect captures that sense of place, care and ongoing connection – it's a name that can grow with us as our services expand or change."
It is expected The GIL Care Connect will open its doors to the community in July, with a formal 'Opening Event' to follow in due course.
Whilst the building is named The GIL Care Connect, our well-utilised Aged Care & Disabilities services will remain practicing under the same service names that the community have come to know, and trust.
