Gin Gin Dad Wins Million in Weekday Lotto Surprise

The Lott

A Gin Gin dad is grinning from ear to ear after scoring a life-changing million-dollar win in last night's Weekday Windfall draw, declaring the newfound fortune made his decade.

The Bundaberg resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4554, drawn Monday 2 June 2025. He looks forward to a neat $1 million.

So far in 2025, there have been five division one winning entries in the Wide Bay-Burnett region, collectively totalling more than $18 million in prize money.

"One million dollars?! You're joking!" he joyfully yelled when we revealed his newly-crowned millionaire status.

"Oh my god! Wow! Holey dooley!

"Wow! Thank you very much! That's awesome.

"You've made my decade! I can't believe it.

"This will allow me to do everything I've ever dreamt about doing. I've worked hard for so many years, and this will allow me to slow down.

"I will be telling my wife, for sure.

"I don't think I'll be able to concentrate at work today. I think I might take the day off!

"How fantastic!"

As well as planning to cut back his work hours and enjoy a slower pace of life, the doting dad was most excited about using his million-dollar prize to give his kids a strong start to life and a secure future.

"This will allow me to set up my kids for life. I can do something for them," he shared.

"We made the move from the city to the country, and we've had to start fresh.

"Wow. Thank you so much. I'm breathless."

His winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Gin Gin Newsagency, 75 Mulgrave Street, Gin Gin.

Gin Gin Newsagency team member Kerry Newcombe said she was so excited to hear their outlet had sold a million-dollar winning entry.

"We're so happy! It's always so exciting selling a division one winning entry and even better knowing we made someone very happy," she said.

"We're starting to decorate the store with posters, balloons and streamers, as well as telling all of our customers about the winning ticket.

"It was only in August last year that we sold our last division one winning entry and we're so pleased to have had another.

"We're a small newsagency in a small town, so to have sold a division one winning entry is an amazing boost for our community."
