This year's Mayoral Christmas Appeal will be held in partnership with The Jeremiah Project - a local charity supporting homeless individuals and families in the Hawkesbury and across Sydney.

Hawkesbury City Mayor Les Sheather said the appeal was an opportunity for the community to come together and support those in need.

"Christmas can be a fun and special time of year, but for some in our community it can be a real struggle just to find somewhere to stay and a warm meal," Mayor Sheather said.

"While I understand that household budgets remain tight for many, even a small donation of a gift could make a real difference to a family or a child this Christmas.

"Hawkesbury residents have always been a generous bunch and ready to help someone in a time of need. Please consider giving generously to this year's appeal."

Jacky Turano from The Jeremiah Project welcomed the organisation's involvement in the 2024 Mayoral Appeal.

"The Jeremiah Project is a charity serving those in need in the streets of Windsor, Richmond, Mt Druitt, Blacktown and Parramatta. With Christmas approaching the team of volunteers will hold a Christmas Party in each suburb and everyone that attends will receive a gift," she said.

"Whether it's a food hamper, children's gift, homeless gift pack or a gift card, our mission is to give everyone hope this festive season.
