To completely transform your customer experience, Wingecarribee Shire Council is investing in extensive modernisation of our in-house software technology. Upgrading to a simpler, more integrated platform will streamline the application process and provide real-time data for greater transparency.
9 million dollars will be invested with specialist Australian software firm Technology One, to bring our existing systems up to speed over the next 10 years. A further $3.35 million has been set aside for implementation of the software.
Council's Chief Information Officer John Crawford explained the benefits of the software upgrade for the local community. "Locals will reap the many practical benefits of our enhanced efficiency as we continue to work with Technology One toward making vast improvements," he said. "Core components of our existing software was nearing the end of its practical usability."
The upgrade complements recent investment in Technology One products including Electronic Document Management and Customer Request Management Systems. What we are really investing in are full service software solutions that will modernise the way we do things and fill current voids that create frustration for people in their application process."
A key feature of the new software is its ability to generate data in real-time, providing greater transparency for our customers. "For example, you'll be able to view an up-to-date financial status for a construction project or the maintenance schedule of a Council Facility," John says. "In turn, this enables Council to manage project costs with greater accuracy and precision over the life-cycle of our assets."
Introduction of the new software suite can be expected over the next three years and represents one of Council's most significant technology investments to date. "It reflects our long-term commitment to improving the way we do business with the people in our community by investing in better ways of getting things done, in-house."
