In response to community interest, Latrobe City Council will hold a community open house session this week to discuss the proposed planning scheme Amendment C131.
The session will be held this Thursday 17 March from 10am - 7pm at the Glengarry Mechanics Institute, offering residents the opportunity to get their questions answered about the amendment, as well as any general drainage-related topics.
Bookings are encouraged to manage the number of people attending at one time but are not required.
Council officers from the Strategic Planning and City Assets teams will be joined by representatives from the West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority to assist the community with any questions.
Mayor of Latrobe City, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said the session would be an opportunity for the community to speak face-to-face with Council about the proposed amendment.
"You can call in at any time during the session or book a 1:1 meeting with a Council officer if you'd prefer. Officers will assist with explaining the proposed changes and how it impacts your property, as well as answering any questions you might have about drainage and flooding," said Cr O'Callaghan.
Although the exhibition period for Amendment C131 closed on Monday 7 March, submissions can still be received before Council hears submissions at a future Council Meeting.
Anyone wishing to pre-book a meeting for the session can contact Jemma O'Keeffe on 1300 367 700.
