The new Glenorchy Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC) is nearing completion and will be open and ready to support children and their families from early next year.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Tasmanian Government is ensuring children aged 0-5 have access to quality early education and health services.
"The new Glenorchy CFLC will provide tailored facilities and services to the community, including psychologists, speech pathologists and social workers," Minister Palmer said.
"We've already seen the positive impacts our new CFLCs have had on local communities across Tasmania.
"As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we've committed $32 million over five years to deliver four new supersized CFLCs in Huonville, Smithton, Longford and Scottsdale.
"These new supersized CFLCs will be designed with the community and will feature additional space for potential partnering with Early Childhood Education and Care providers.
"Work is now underway to confirm the first sites for the new CFLCs.
"The Tasmanian Government is committed to giving children the best possible start in life and learning."
The new Glenorchy CFLC is located adjacent to Glenorchy Primary School and was designed by Morrison Breytenbach Architects and built by Bennett Construction.
It's the last of six CFLCs to be delivered as part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's $30 million commitment, with new Centres now providing services and support to children and their families in Kingston, Sorell, West Ulverstone, Wynyard, and Mayfield.
