ROCKVILLE, Md.— An international group of honorees have been selected to present innovative research designs providing the latest insights into preventing and treating obesity during the 10thannual Obesity Journal Symposium. This event will be held during the 40th Annual Meeting of The Obesity Society (TOS) at ObesityWeek® 2022 scheduled for Nov. 1–4, 2022 in San Diego, Calif., and online at www.obesityweek.org.
The symposium will begin with a "state of the journal" presentation by Editor-in-Chief Eric Ravussin, PhD, FTOS, and Leanne M. Redman, PhD, FTOS. The symposium will be hosted by the editorial team of Obesity, the flagship scientific journal of TOS. This event will be held in person on Nov. 4, 2022.
"The 2022 symposium recipients showcase the best of the best and what our journal has become over the past 10 years under Ravussin's leadership. We have five fantastic papers that include novel data from studies that span from pre-clinical, to clinical and implementation science," said Obesity Journal Symposium Chair and Associate Editor-in-Chief Leanne M. Redman, PhD, professor at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Baton Rouge, La.
This year's presentations and honorees are:

"Monoacylglycerol O-Acyltransferase 1 Lowers Adipocyte Differentiation Capacity In Vitro But Does Not Affect Adiposity in Mice," Andrew Lutkewitte, PhD, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo.
"Assessing Service Provision and Outcomes at the Canberra Obesity Management Service: A Retrospective Chart Review," Ryan Burns, MChD, MPH, Canberra Health Services, Australia

An author of each featured paper will give a presentation followed by a group discussion. The selected papers also will be featured in a special section of the November 2022 edition of Obesity.
In addition to the paper presentations, Ravussin will present a Key Lecture titled "The Impact of COVID on Obesity Research and Journal Publishing - The View From the Top." This lecture is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022
