Going Armed So As To Cause Fear At Yeppoon

Detectives from the Yeppoon Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a 19-year-old Taroomball man after an alleged incident in Pacific Heights on February 19.

It will be alleged at around 3.30pm, the man was a passenger in a Black Volkswagen Tiguan driving on Miami Crescent.

Police further allege the man pointed a replica firearm towards two children known to him, as they walked down the street.

The firearm was not discharged, and no one was injured.

On February 20, police executed a search warrant and seized the replica firearm.

The man was charged with one count of going armed so as to cause fear.

He is due to appear in the Yeppoon Magistrates Court on March 13.
